About the Pastor

Elder Gilbert G. White, III was born in Boston to Gwendolyn E. Simmons and Gilbert E. White, Jr.  He was educated in the Concord Public School System but reared in the neighborhood of Roxbury. He currently resides in Roxbury with his wife and their youngest daughter Miriam.

He later matriculated at Hampton University and graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Management. He began his ad vocation as a teacher in the Boston Public Schools and later earned his Masters of Education in School Counseling from Cambridge College.  He continues to work for the Boston Public Schools and the families of Boston.

On March 26, 2002, he was ordained to the ministry and named Local Pastor of Boston after holding the position of Deacon-in-Charge of the Boston tabernacle.  He is the National Vice-President of the Sons of Abraham and Committee Chairperson of the Public Relations Committee.

He is a member of William G. Butler #12, Prince Hall F&A Mason. He has served on a number of community boards such as the Black Community Information Center and Boston Raiders Football and Cheerleading Club. He has also been a volunteer coach for football, basketball, baseball, and lacrosse. He also has been a member of United Souls a men’s self –help support group.

His ministry can be exemplified in the words, “If I can help somebody as I pass along, then my living will not be in vain” and summed up with “faith without works is dead also”.
